Rube's Crab Shack

History

Bobby ( Rube ) & Robin Harne, Owners of Rube's Crab Shack in Emmitsburg, Md. Crabs are more than a summertime backyard treat for them. Hardshell crabs and seafood has been a part of their lives since the couple have been teenagers. 

Robin's father " Bob Carson " was the owner of "The Blue Mountain Inn Crab House " in Thurmont, Md. from the late 1960's to the early 1980's. On the weekends there would be lines at both doors waiting to get in. Robin worked in the dining room serving up trays of the crustaceans while Bobby ( Rube ) steamed them in the crab room. Robin's dad "Bob Carson " taught his children the fundamentals of the crab business.

Bobby and Robin started steamimg crabs in their backyard shed, then moving to the carry out for 8 years. Customers would come in and say you need to get a sit down restaurant like your dad had. So hear we are. Come experience a uniquely different Crab Shack. 

Rube's Crab Shack, LLC ( Dine In, Carry-Out & Catering ) promises "Seafood Lovers" a truly enjoyable dining experience, rooted in the "Spicy Aroma" of the Catoctin Mountains. Chef Rube's seafood is steamed "Fresh" with spicy seasonings to create a distinctive taste that you won't find anywhere else.
